Training

Objectives: Supporting research into training

IMU supports research into training, notably by encouraging the involvement of training establishments across the region, and favouring cross-fertilisation between academic constructions and productions and the needs and expertise of practitioners.

It thus helps to coordinate teaching activities at the Doctoral Schools in the fields of urban studies and metropolisation.

IMU thus contributes to the clarification of the training offer, to the shared efforts required to ensure that training programmes meet the highest standards, and to the promotion of training programmes beyond the metropolitan area.

IMU focuses on promoting ever-closer contacts between practitioners, teacher-researchers and Master’s and PhD students, thus contributing to the creation of a milieu and a series of networks facilitating the entry of students into the labour market.

Working with institutional and socio-economic partners, as well as with public associations, IMU is able to monitor emerging urban sectors and specialisations and update training programmes in consequence.

This combination of research and training will be reinforced by didactic experimentation specific to the field of higher education. Within the framework of its partnerships, IMU intends to work on experimentation and innovation in teaching and training in collaboration with researchers from the Institut Français d’Education.
